WATERJET CUTTING
Keeping at the forefront of steel fabrication technology, B.M.S. Steel has recently acquired a water jet cutter machine. Water jet cutting can cut any known materials. This process uses hi-pressure water and in some case a 80 grit garnet mixed with a cutting head helps produce jobs that not even laser technology supports.
Water-jet cutting operates at pressures of 25,000 psi to 200,000 psi. depending on the hydraulic pump unit. Our unit at BMS Steel uses a 25 horse power supply which can give operating pressure of 45,000 psi.
Water-jet cutting is able to cut any materials such as wood, glass, gasket materials, copper, any grade of steels regardless of its density, plastics, aluminum, etc.
With a cutting pressure of 45,000 psi, mild steel plate 32mm thick & aluminum or rubber up to 50mm thick cut be cut. The smallest hole that can be cut is 2.0mm diameter, regardless of thickness!
The water-jet is operated by converting AutoCAD DXF/DWG files and converting them into a G-code program on a x & y movements.
